Summary:
The Manager of Information Technology plans, directs, and manages the daily operations of the computing support services, including, but not limited to, desktop services, systems/security administration, communications and applications.
The Manager of Information Technology is responsible for administering and overseeing all computer-related technologies, including network infrastructure and security, systems administration, communications, and desktop services while aligning the services provided by Information Technology with the strategic priorities of the College.
Provide an exceptional customer service experience to both internal and external customers throughout every interaction.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (Other duties may be assigned) :
(40%) Operations Management Direct and support the daily operational activities of the Computing Services department.
Ensure the delivery of high quality, secure and highly available technology services that support the College's mission.
Ensure quality service by providing exceptional customer service and pro-actively responding to requests.
Lead and promote an innovative, service-oriented culture to ensure customer satisfaction.
Provide technical design, implementation, and support assistance on all hardware and software operations, including but not limited to; network infrastructure operations, server operating systems, business software applications, cybersecurity, backup and disaster recovery operations.
(40%) Planning and Project Management Plan and support computer system and laptop deployments, as well as software upgrades.
Develop and implement comprehensive technology refresh process and plan.
Develop and manage department budgets.
Work closely with decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement and support cost-effective technology solutions.
Plan system development to meet long-term needs and future operational requirements.
Make recommendations on the procurement and implementation of new technologies concerning the replacement of obsolete or inefficient systems.
Provide leadership, operations oversight and coordination for the successful implementation of department and College projects.
(10%) Technical Support Recommend and perform solutions to correct problems in a timely manner.
Test and evaluate proposed hardware and software to determine efficiency, reliability, and compatibility with existing computer system, peripherals and the network.
(10%) Manager Essential Responsibilities Responsible for the overall direction, supervision, coordination, and evaluation of the Computing Services team.
Responsibilities include:
design position responsibilities, interview, hire, and train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; supervise, mentor, and develop staff through the Employee Performance review; reward and discipline employees.
Carry out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws to include:
o Develop plan(s) and budget for department.
o Address issues in an effective and timely manner.
o Be an active advocate for LTC in the community.
o Be active in the college by serving on committees.
o Teach classes, as requested, based on course-identified qualifications.
TECHNOLOGY SKILLS:
Experience with SharePoint Online, Microsoft SCCM, Azure, and/or other systems administration software, and experience working in a college or university environment is preferred.
Understanding of Windows operating systems, Windows Microsoft office/O365 suite products, antivirus and spyware products; remote installation service resources, cybersecurity applications, use electronic diagnostic equipment, computer diagnostic software, installation of hardware and software.
Project management experience is preferred.

Excellent organizational and project management skills.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple complex initiatives and projects serving various customers with available resources.
Ability to respond quickly to changing business needs and priorities.

EDUCATION AND
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in computer related program required.
Master's degree in a computer related program is preferred.
Three to five years of related department management experience is required.
Five years IT hands on experience in PC desktop environment, systems administration, network security/administration, and/or telecom management required, including at least three years demonstrated experience supervising technical employees and day-to-day management of information systems across the spectrum of applications and services.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSURE, REGISTRATION:
IT certifications (eg.
, CCNA, CompTIA, CISM, ITIL, etc.
) preferred.
MVR CHECK required.
The employee in this position is a potential operator of a Lakeshore Technical College owned vehicle or may be responsible for driving any other motor vehicles on behalf of the College.
